Ms. Casillas-Rivera focuses her practice on civil and commercial litigation, corporate governance, securities, product liability, and bankruptcy.
She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where she was actively involved in several academic and service initiatives. During law school, she volunteered with the LideRex Pro Bono, an organization dedicated to providing immediate disaster relief, and the Derechos de Adolescentes y Menores Pro Bono (DAN). She also served as an Associate Editor and later as Executive Editor of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review. During her final year of law school, she participated in the Bankruptcy Legal Aid Clinic.
Prior to joining Coto & Associates, Ms. Casillas-Rivera worked as a Proposal Writer for a nonprofit organization, where she successfully secured both state and private funding. She subsequently served as an Assistant Farm Manager, overseeing the farm’s administration, sales, distribution, and production operations, in addition to organizing and structuring its overall business strategy.
